Chapter Index

“Can’t we go somewhere other than to watch a movie?”

Philip, who was reading the pamphlet, turned his head.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to see a movie?”

The voice that asked that question was kind, but the eyes were not at all. Chloe, unaware of that, said only what she wanted to say.

“Elle said that your villa’s swimming pool is so cool.”

    “Okay?”

“Elle has been there, but I haven’t.”

    “Haha, that’s right.”

F**k, why is it like this?

“I want to go too. The swimming pool in your villa. Movies on weekend evenings are boring.”

Until now, she was talking about how much she wanted to watch the movie, saying that she was looking forward to it.

“How will you go now? Besides, you don’t even have a swimsuit.”

“It’s okay. I don’t have to wear it. It would be only you and me anyway.”

Chloe whispered in his ear as if she was revealing a secret.

    “You’ll catch a cold.”

“We just have to play as long as I don’t catch a cold. Right? Elle said she took a picture. She also posted it.”

She showed him a social media photo posted by a friend of hers, with a sullen look on her face. It was then that Philip realized what was going on.

Chloe must have posted a picture of her going to the cinema first. And her friend Elle must have posted a picture of her in his villa. These were the type of people who took the measure of affection as a measure of how well the other person matched the selfish behavior.

“It’s not too far from here.”

Chloe Moore was such a classic character.

    “It is not.”

Chloe’s expression brightened at once as Philip gave a light kiss.

    “Then you don’t need this?”

Philip looked up the movie ticket and asked. Chloe smiled broadly and nodded. Philip tore the ticket and tossed it in a nearby trash can.

    “Then shall we go?”

Chloe said, putting her arms around Philip’s firm forearm.

    “Where?”

    Philip asked.

“Your place. We have to leave now, so we will be there before dinner.”

“Sorry. I don’t think I will be able to go.”

Philip pulled out one of his remaining tickets, waved, and smiled softly.

    “What?”

    “Good bye.”

Chloe’s face turned red as Philip said goodbye sweetly.

“Are you telling me to go home alone now?”

She had a look of disbelief.

“If you have someone to go with, you can call them.”

    “Philip Levin!”

When his name was called, Philip answered with a long smile.

“If you leave now, you will arrive before dinner.”

Chloe glared at Philip, biting her lower lip, then screaming.

“You just watch! I will make you regret it.”

Philip checked his watch as she groaned and disappeared. There were only a few minutes left. If she hadn’t been annoying, he was originally going to have a quick meal nearby and watch the movie.

    It was really fucking annoying.

Philip smiled with his hands in his pockets. Dark emotions that suddenly crept through the cracks and raised their heads fluttered in his lower abdomen.

Philip used to laugh moderately at anything he did, knowing that he could end up in a mental hospital for doing what he wanted. In fact, he could have properly matched her wishes. It wasn’t very difficult. However, there were times when such trivial emotional play became annoying. At that time, he wanted to spit out his inner words as soon as he could.

He wished he didn’t come all the way here to see a fucking romance movie.

Philip looked down at the tickets for a romance movie that didn’t even suit his taste. As he was about to throw it in the trash can, he saw a familiar face.

    “Hi.”

    “Hic.”

As he approached and greeted him, the boy shuddered and gasped.

He stopped bullying the young and weak at the age of six, and strangely, looking at the boy, the forgotten joy overflowed from my throat.

    “Ah, hello.”

The boy recognized Philip and hurriedly greeted him.

    “What are you doing here?”

“Oh that… I want to watch a movie.”

Philip then remembered that he had pre-ordered today’s movie for the boy.

“Are you here to watch with your girlfriend?”

Even though he knew it wasn’t, he still asked. The boy’s face turned dark.

    “That, there, that… .”

Looking down at the boy who was sweating and not knowing what to do, Philip swallowed a laugh inside.

He shouldn’t sound like he was having fun.

As he was thinking of going back, the boy apologized, clenching his fists, saying, “I’m sorry.”

    “What?”

“… the movie ticket. You bought two, but I came alone… I didn’t do that on purpose. My younger brothers are going to camp this weekend. … It’s not that I don’t have friends to watch with, but anyway… . you bought it as a gift, but I’m sorry I couldn’t use it all.”

Philip looked at the boy with a smirk. Seriously, can he really be sorry for such things?

“Still, I’ll have fun for two people.”

The boy added that with a firm tone.

When he handed over the movie ticket, the boy’s cheeks were slightly blushed.

‘Thank you. We’ll have a lot of fun.’

The boy’s eyes lit up with sincere gratitude for the kindness that he could throw in the trash can. It was a completely different reaction from those who were tired of saying what they like.

“Did you throw away the other one?”

The boy shook his head at Philip’s question.

“No. I didn’t throw it away. Of course I have it.”

As if begging him to believe, the boy pulled out a movie ticket from his pocket and looked at it. Philip took the ticket from the boy’s hand.

    “Then can I use this?”

It was a small whim that came out of nowhere.

On a Friday evening, he didn’t want to go home alone, and since he came all the way here, he thought he should watch at least one movie. Above all, the original novel lent by the boy was quite good.

“Aren’t you here to see a movie with your friends?”

    “I just got stood up.”

    “What?”

The boy’s eyes widened at the words. The reaction was unbelievable.

    Because he was Philip Levin.

The first Asian quarterback on the team to be ranked in the top five in the nation’s high school rankings, a popular student in the school who was eager to talk to him, the son of a wealthy family with a painted, beautiful appearance. He was a man who had all the conditions that seemed to have been taken from a youth romance movie.

    “Who… no, I didn’t mean to ask a personal question. I’m sorry. Anyway, what… , not that… , just amazed.”

    “Haha. Yeah.”

Philip smiled lightly and shrugged. The boy, after hesitating, asked if he was okay.

    “Huh? what.”

“… You must have been disappointed. I’m sure the other party had something to do.”

Philip stared at the boy who gently offered consolation, as if he were looking at a strange creature.

    “I’ll buy you some popcorn.”

    “I’ll buy it.”

“No. You bought the ticket too. I want to buy the popcorn with my own money.”

    “Ha ha ha ha ha.”

Philip burst out with a genuinely delightful laugh.

It was the first time it happened. Whether a woman or a man, Philip, the son of a wealthy family, took it for granted that he spent money. Occasionally, there were people who bought something to please Philip, but no one opened his wallet as he comforted him like this time.

    What a jerk.

    “Okay then, I’ll accept.”

    “Stay here.”

He talked to him like he was talking to a child younger than him and went to the snack bar. Philip watched the boy’s back with his arms crossed. Not long after, the boy came back in a hurry as if he had realized something.

“… What would you like to drink?”

Philip, who was gasping for breath, looked down at the idiot who asked that question, and answered with a short smile, “Sprite.”
