Vol 3 Ch 27
by chef“Hang up my clothes, take a shower.”
Humming to himself, CEO Kim chuckled as he remembered the saying that singing to yourself is a sign of age.
He neatly arranged his luxurious cashmere coat and scarf, then opened the refrigerator door. He had planned to drink some water before showering. Lately, he had been concerned about his rough skin. Even massages only provided temporary relief.
Stress was the skin’s worst enemy, and not being able to resolve it left him feeling helpless. Seeing the top-tier actor, the company’s greatest asset, behaving like a child, only added to his frustration.
None of the advice, such as “earn a fortune when you’re young,” “don’t get old without saving,” or “you won’t always receive good scripts,” seemed to work on Wooyeon.
‘Even if you earn a fortune, it’s just money,’ ‘Why save when I have a yacht,’ ‘If scripts don’t come, just let me know. I’ll retire immediately and buy a small island to live with Inseop.’
Each word felt more irritating than the last. Even Inseop, whom he had considered his last hope, couldn’t convince him. CEO Kim felt like his insides were crumbling when Inseop admitted defeat.
“Ugh, if I renew the contract with Wooyeon again, I’ll go crazy. That ungrateful little brat.”
“You’re a bit late.”
“I’m so angry, I need a drink. Ugh!”
CEO Kim screamed and slumped to the floor. Wooyeon, sitting on a dining chair, sighed and picked up the water bottle ceo Kim had dropped.
“You… what are you doing here?”
Trembling as if he had seen a ghost, CEO Kim spoke.
“You’re so consistent. The password has been the same for years. Well, being consistent like that, no wonder you can keep working with someone like me.”
“You… how did you know my house’s entrance code?”
“You told me when you were selling the villa in Gangwon Province. Eight digits.”
“Why would you remember that?”
“What can I say? Unlike someone who has the same passwords everywhere, I happen to have a good memory.”
Wooyeon made a disgustingly smug face as he offered the water bottle. Would you like to drink? he asked.
“I’m not drinking!”
“By the way, why is Director Shim’s birthday in the password? Are you two dating? Did I come here without realizing you two are living together?”
“You crazy bastard! Did you come here because you have no manners!?”
“Yeah, I have no manners or backbone. But what does the CEO, who renewed the contract with someone like me, lack?”
Watching Wooyeon speak with great concern, CEO Kim pounded his chest with his fist.
“Give me that!”
He snatched the water bottle, opened the lid, and gulped it down. Once his stomach calmed down a bit, he wiped his mouth and glared at Wooyeon.
“If you sneak into someone else’s house like this, isn’t it home invasion? Even if you don’t know about the US, you’d get arrested in Korea if someone reported you.”
“In the US, they usually shoot you.”
Wooyeon playfully made a gun shape with his hand and made a sound effect.
“…If the law allowed it, I’d like to shoot you.”
“The law wouldn’t allow that, that’s why CEO Kim hasn’t been shot yet.”
“Why me? What did I do to deserve getting shot?”
“Why do you keep making Inseop do unnecessary things?”
“What? Who did what? When?”
Clearly, Choi Inseop had promised not to mention Jaeha in front of Wooyeon. Although his conscience pricked him, CEO Kim shamelessly continued, glaring at Wooyeon.
“What’s the big deal about asking him to run errands?”
“Oh, errands.”
Wooyeon tilted his head, chuckling softly.
“I don’t like chocolate, anyway.”
‘You know, CEO. Do you know when Wooyeon is the scariest? When he swears or gets angry, he just seems like a son of a bitch, but sometimes he talks completely out of context, and that’s creepy. It feels like talking to a wall. Sometimes, he doesn’t seem human.’
The words that Manager Cha had said at a drinking session came to mind.
Why does he come to someone’s house in the middle of the night and randomly talk about chocolate? CEO Kim kept his composure and responded as calmly as possible.
“So, what? What’s wrong with chocolate?”
“Still, I look forward to the chocolate Inseop gives me once a year. It’s not about whether it tastes good or not, it’s just nice that he bought it for me.”
“…Are you here in the middle of the night to talk about love?”
“Do I look like someone who would do that?”
“….”
“By the way, that was sarcasm just now.”
Damn son of a bitch.
CEO Kim wanted to curse, but he kept seeing the knives he had left in the kitchen and held his tongue.
“Anyway, this year, he bought me cheap convenience store chocolate.”
“What did he do with the money he earned?”
CEO Kim sneered at Wooyeon without missing a beat.
“I forgot to give him pocket money because I secretly bought a mansion in the LA area under Inseop’s name. Sorry about that.”
“….”
Ah, I really hate this. What sin did I commit in my past life that I have to listen to this tasteless love talk?
“Well, whatever. Even if he gives me a rock to chew on, I’ll swallow it. But he felt sorry for giving me tasteless chocolate. Then he didn’t know what to do so he said he’d do anything.”
There was a hint of pride in Wooyeon’s expression as he spoke.
“That day, he sucked my dick, and he kept sucking all night long…”
“Argh! Stop! Stop it! My ears are rotting! They’re rotting!”
CEO Kim ran to the sink, turning on the water and flushing his ears with the running water.
“Hahaha. Why are you making such a big deal out of this? You’ve heard worse.”
“I don’t want to hear anymore. Anyway, what’s the point? Just get to the conclusion.”
“Don’t use Inseop.”
“When have I ever used Inseop?”
Wooyeon stood up from his seat.
…Seriously, what did this guy eat or exercise to make his shoulders broader?
CEO Kim involuntarily took a step back, swallowing dry saliva.
“Regardless of what the CEO said, I don’t want him to watch other actors’ works because I don’t want to be compared to them. I don’t even want him to search for other actors. Damn it, I don’t want him to even think of another asshole.”
“Hey, that’s not just jealousy, it’s downright absurd…”
“I know it’s ridiculous.”
Nevertheless, with a hint of conscience, Lee Wooyeon added with a smirk, “But still, what can I do if I don’t like it?”
Ah, right. Where does this guy have a conscience?
CEO Kim quickly regained composure and straightened up.
“Do you have any evidence that I ordered Inseop to do anything?”
“No.”
As Lee Wooyeon turned to open the refrigerator door, CEO Kim breathed a sigh of relief inwardly.
Right. Keep denying until the end. What can they do without evidence anyway?
“Would you like some?”
As Lee Wooyeon rummaged through the fridge, he pulled out an apple and offered it.
“Huh? No, it’s okay….”
He was about to ask him to leave the house quickly. If Lee Wooyeon hadn’t reached out and grabbed the apple.
Crunch, crunch, crunch.
The scent of apple juice spread into the darkness.
Would the witch who came to sell apples to Snow White have said that? …No, the witch would have endured the trouble of putting poison in the apple. That guy would gladly dirty his hands with a knife and still…
Oh god, why does he look like Snow White, to the point where it’s irritating?
CEO Kim, stepped back and slowly raised his arms.
“Wooyeon. We’ve known each other for a long time. …Let’s put the knife down.”
Having neatly peeled the apple, Lee Wooyeon cut a piece with the knife and repeated the same words as before.
“Would you like some?”
“……”
Seeing CEO Kim, frozen and silent, Lee Wooyeon smiled and took a bite of the apple.
“There’s no evidence, but there’s still a guilty conscience.”
Lee Wooyeon chewed on the apple crisply and spoke.
“To be honest, I didn’t know what jealousy was before. I couldn’t understand the concept of having s*x with only one person to begin with. How can you eat the same food every day? Isn’t that right?”
“Well, yeah.”
Thinking that the knife in Lee Wooyeon’s hand seemed particularly sharp, CEO Kim, quickly agreed.
“But Inseop, he’s different. Even if you eat it every day, it’s really fucking delicious.”
“……”
CEO Kim felt like he wanted to wash his ears again.
“I’m going to have s*x with him until I die. Seriously, sometimes I can’t believe how much I like Inseop.”
Lee Wooyeon spoke while chewing on the apple.
“But aside from that, I don’t want to die because of him. Just by him being close to someone else, I get so angry that I feel like vomiting. If anyone touches him, I swear, I’ll kill them.”
Lee Wooyeon’s eyes were sharper than the blade he held as he spoke.
“But did you really need to provoke more jealousy there?”
“……”
No, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I forgot that you’re such an asshole and I’m just…
“It was very reckless, but you still succeeded.”
Lee Wooyeon put down the apple and the fruit knife.
“…Huh?”
“Arrange the project schedule. Make sure Seo Jaeha doesn’t get the script in my place.”
“Wooyeon….”
CEO Kim called Lee Wooyeon with a face of disbelief.
“If there’s any ad contracts Seo Jaeha shot that are about to expire, contact them and say I’ll take care of it. Or even if there’s time left on the contract, if they want to switch to me, I can shoot it right away.”
“…Lee Wooyeon? Are you really…, wait. I need to record you. Say it again.”
CEO Kim pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and started the recording with trembling hands.
“F**k, what the f**k is this recording, I feel like shit already, don’t make it worse.”
CEO Kim quickly deleted the beautifully articulated swear word, afraid it would leak somewhere.
“Make the schedule, but don’t overdo it.”
“Uh! Okay! Got it! I’m not the kind of person who just blindly schedules things excessively! Hahaha. Leave it to me!”
“I’ll leave it to you then.”
“Ahahaha. Yeah, yeah. It’s late, so hurry up and go.”
As CEO Kim escorted Lee Wooyeon to the entrance, his words lingered in his ears.
“Do you have your car? If not, should I lend you mine?”
“It’s okay. Inseop is coming to pick me up.”
“Ah, okay. Hurry up and go. Inseop must be waiting.”
CEO Kim pushed Lee Wooyeon’s broad back. Then, as if suddenly reminded of something, he called out, “Wooyeon.” Lee Wooyeon, who was about to leave, turned his head.
“What did Inseop say?”
He had put down his knife and agreed to shoot the project. There was nothing more to fear.
“Inseop didn’t say anything.”
“Huh? Weren’t you mad about being compared to Seo Jaeha?”
“He didn’t compare. He hasn’t even mentioned Seo Jaeha’s name.”
“But then why….”
Lee Wooyeon briefly closed his eyes and then opened them sharply.
“I told you. The chocolate Inseop gives is good.”
“……”
What does that mean, you crazy bastard?
“Ugh, damn it. It pisses me off again just thinking about it. If I split Seo Jaeha’s head in half, I might feel better.”
“…Don’t do that.”
When CEO Kim pleaded with a trembling voice, Lee Wooyeon seemed to remember something, narrowed his eyes, and smiled.
“It might be okay for Seo Jaeha to appear in the same project. If you want to make comparisons, you should do it properly so everyone shuts their mouths.”
“……”
“Then I’ll trust only you, CEO. You must have the confidence to handle the aftermath.”
Lee Wooyeon lightly tapped CEO Kim’s shoulder and disappeared.
It was only then that CEO Kim understood what Lee Wooyeon meant by “handle the aftermath.” With trembling hands, he called his only ally.
“Manager Cha, it’s me. Why am I calling you so ominously in the middle of the night? I called because I wanted to hear your voice. Haha. Hyungyu. Do you need money by any chance? Why are you shouting! If you don’t want to… Don’t say that, Hyungyu. Hey!”
CEO Kim called desperately, but the call had already been disconnected.
“Ugh!”
CEO Kim groaned as he tore at his hair. Regret was futile. It was he who had awakened Lee Wooyeon from sleep, and the aftermath was entirely his responsibility.
