Vol 2 Ch 85.4
by chef“Then say goodbye to my brother.”
Logan smiled and waved his hand. Nathan, standing next to him, also waved his hand. Lee Wooyeon nodded his head with a kind expression.
[Is he feeling very unwell?]
As Aaron was about to leave the house, he stopped and turned around to ask him.
[He felt like he had a bit of a cold. Since he took his medicine, he will sleep well in the morning.]
Even after hearing Lee Wooyeon’s answer, Aaron had a disapproving expression on his face.
[Can’t I just look at his face for a moment?]
[I don’t want to wake up a sick person.]
Aaron sighed at him. After standing and thinking for a moment, he spoke in Korean.
“My brother is a good person.”
“I know.”
He realized every day that Choi Inseop was a good person, to the point where he got sick of it. Because he was the only human who truly loved someone like him.
“I asked my brother about you yesterday.”
While the twins who were drinking beer left to go to the bathroom, Aaron asked his older brother.
‘Is Lee Wooyeon a good person?’
If the answer was yes, Aaron planned to tell him about the incident he knew about. However, contrary to expectations, Inseop blinked his eyes a couple of times and then answered, “No.” For some reason, he was so helpless that he didn’t even think about asking anything.
At that time, Nathan, who had returned from the bathroom, was making a fuss and saying that as soon as he got closer to the toilet, the lid opened automatically and he could see the sea when he sat on it.
‘Wow, your boss at work must be really rich. Let’s continue to be friends in the future. That way you can continue to live here.’
Inseop smiled silently at the joking remark and nodded his head.
‘I guess so.’
It was a short word. That was it. Still, it felt like he was reading his brother’s thoughts exactly.
“I think he likes you.”
Lee Wooyeon pulled the corner of his mouth and smiled.
“Me too, I’m glad.”
“…….”
Aaron looked at Lee Wooyeon in silence. He was smiling sweetly, but he didn’t like the somewhat arrogant look in his eyes. But since it was his brother’s choice, he had no intention of saying anything. He didn’t want to break his beloved brother’s heart in any way.
“Can I ask you one favor?”
Unexpected words came out of the man’s mouth.
“What?”
“Don’t tell Mr. Inseop. I don’t want him to worry.”
He knew what not to say. Of course, Aaron answered.
“That’s something you should talk about, it’s not something I can talk about at all. I have no intention of doing so.”
Lee Wooyeon stared at Aaron and muttered lowly. F**k, I wonder who isn’t Choi Inseop’s younger brother. Aaron doesn’t understand properly? When asked again, Lee Wooyeon immediately smiled.
“Thank you.”
Aaron thought for a moment, perhaps thinking he had heard an unexpected answer, and then said, “Okay.”
“Yes. Please tell me anything.”
Lee Wooyeon smiled and nodded his head. He asked him to speak, but he didn’t mean for him to ask him a favor.
“…Please pickle ginger and lemon in honey and make tea.”
“Yes?”
“Every time my brother caught a cold, my mother made it for him. Strangely, when he drank it, his fever went down right away.”
Aaron, who had said that much, said enough, bowed his head and got into the car. The twins rolled down their window and waved as they said goodbye.
Lee Wooyeon waved his hand affectionately. As the sound of the car went away and their figures disappeared from sight, the smile disappeared from Lee Wooyeon’s face.
F**k, as expected, they were all guys he didn’t like.
“Woke up?”
Hearing Lee Wooyeon’s soft voice, Inseop blinked at him a few more times and then looked around. Then, gasping, he swallowed his breath and jumped up from the bed.
“What time is it? What about the kids?”
“They left earlier. It’s one o’clock in the afternoon.”
Inseop’s face quickly became tearful.
“I couldn’t even say bye….”
Lee Wooyeon gently pushed Inseop’s shoulders and laid him back on the bed.
“Ask them to come visit again later.”
It was a blatant lie. Watching dull, boring family dramas was something he didn’t do even when he was six.
“…Thank you.”
Inseop thanked him while clutching the sheet. Lee Wooyeon touched Inseop’s round forehead with his hand. A very slight fever remained.
Lee Wooyeon lifted the teacup he had left on his table.
“It’s hot tea. Would you like some?”
Inseop nodded his head. He lifted him halfway up and brought the teacup to his lips. After taking a sip, Inseop opened his eyes wide.
“Is it worth drinking?”
“…How did you know?”
“Aaron told me. ‘Please take good care of my brother’.”
Inseop frowned as if he felt sad.
“He’s a really good kid. I’m his older brother, but he’s always more mature than me… I’m always so sorry.”
“It’s okay.”
Lee Wooyeon motioned for Inseop to finish the remaining tea. Inseop drank all the tea and went back to bed.
Lee Wooyeon pulled the sheet and covered Inseop.
He heard the sound of rain.
“…Is it raining?”
“Oh, I guess.”
It was only then that Lee Wooyeon realized it as he turned his gaze to the window. The moment Inseop saw that straight profile, he felt a part of his heart tightening. He knew that Lee Wooyeon had nursed him all night. Even if the fever rose slightly or something went wrong with his body, Lee Wooyeon could not sleep even a wink and nursed the patient.
Inseop took a small sigh.
“What happened?”
Lee Wooyeon noticed that brief sigh and asked.
“…I wonder what it would be like if Lee Wooyeon were my brother.”
Lee Wooyeon chuckled.
Regardless of effort, he envied Inseop’s brothers who had a relationship with Inseop the moment they were born. Probably, Choi Inseop would never abandon his family no matter what his younger brothers did.
“What kind of outrage would it be for you to have a younger brother like me?”
Lee Wooyeon said as she fixed the sheets.
Inseop’s dark eyes looked up at Lee Wooyeon cautiously, and his long eyelashes shyly closed down.
“…It would have been the same.”
“What?”
“If Lee Wooyeon were my younger brother or older brother… maybe.”
Lee Wooyeon bent down and pressed Inseop’s lips. It was a soft, careful kiss with no tongue.
“…Please say the next thing after you’re completely healed. I can’t handle it right now.”
It may not be able to become Inseop’s family, but just having him think of him that way was enough. He felt a deep sense of satisfaction, as if he belonged to his world.
“Would you like to lie down next to me?”
When Inseop pointed next to him, Lee Wooyeon immediately climbed onto the bed and lay down. He stretched out his arm and hugged Inseop’s head and spoke in a low voice.
“I canceled my weekend trip.”
“Huh? No. My fever will go down soon.”
Inseop shouted in surprise at the sudden declaration. He knew how hard it was for Lee Wooyeon to go on a trip for his birthday.
“I know. I’ll get better soon.”
Lee Wooyeon stroked Inseop’s hair and continued speaking.
“We can go next week. If it doesn’t work out, the week after is fine.”
“…….”
“Because I can go next month and next year as well.”
There is a deep longing in his gaze. Inseop realized what Lee Wooyeon was talking about next.
He wanted his whole life. He hoped so too.
“…I guess so.”
Only after hearing Inseop’s answer did Lee Wooyeon close his eyes. Inseop placed his head on Lee Wooyeon’s chest. Soon, Lee Wooyeon’s breathing became more regular.
The sound of rain hit the window.
It was an afternoon filled with the bitter scent of tea.
Inseop closed his eyes again while listening to Lee Wooyeon’s breathing.
