Passionate Melodrama

Living alone in a hillside neighborhood, Yeonjun grows exhausted from friends’ mockery, ostracism, and the loneliness of having no one around him, to the point where he wants to give up on everything. One day, after crying for a long time and returning home later than usual, he watches a drama featuring a protagonist in a situation similar to his own. Wanting to see that protagonist become happy, Yeonjun lives each day waiting only for the drama to air. Eventually, having fallen deeply for Seo Jeongwon, the actor who played the now-happy male lead, Yeonjun finds joy in his daily life by watching Jeongwon’s dramas, films, and programs.

Thus, on the day Yeonjun turns twenty, just a few days before his high school graduation ceremony, he comes face to face with Seo Jeongwon, who has arrived in his neighborhood to do briquette volunteer work for low-income households. Even while watching Jeongwon speak stiff, formulaic words only because his manager tells him to, Yeonjun is simply happy. Meanwhile, Seo Jeongwon begins to grow curious about Yeonjun, who sends him nothing but blind, wholehearted love.
