Garam was right in front of him. Garam was utterly astonished to see Sunyul open his eyes.
“How… It should have been a lethal dose.”
“Ah, ugh…”
Sunyul, too, was bewildered by the current situation. He was sure he had died.
He wanted to beg for his life, but his body was so stiff he couldn’t even speak properly. Garam shot up from his seat and brought something. It was a vial of poison.
Sunyul tried to resist, but it was impossible with his body even stiffer than before.
In the end, Garam injected the poison once more.
It seemed to be a different poison this time. A stinging pain, as if being pierced by needles, was accompanied by nausea. Sunyul dry-heaved and then promptly lost consciousness.
The brief darkness ended.
And soon, he opened his eyes again.
“Monster.”
The word, laced with disgust, pierced him. Leaving a wound that would not easily heal.
“If I can’t kill you with poison…”
Garam grabbed Sunyul and dragged him to the window.
Garam opened the window. With a fierce gust of wind, the distant sounds of protest echoed faintly.
Just like that, Garam lifted Sunyul up. Although Garam was a production class, he was still an awakened being. His physical strength was far greater than an ordinary person’s, so he could easily lift the weight of one man.
For safety, the window was designed not to open all the way. Garam estimated the gap of the window and Sunyul’s slim frame, and pushed Sunyul out the window.
“Die.”
“Ugh, ghk…”
“I said die!”
Sunyul desperately resisted with his powerless body. Fortunately, the window gap wasn’t wide enough for Sunyul to fall through, so he didn’t plummet down easily.
Garam’s face twisted savagely. Garam glared at Sunyul’s hands clutching the windowsill, then headed back to the shelf where he had placed the poison.
It seemed that even if he couldn’t kill him with poison, it wasn’t completely ineffective, so he was planning to make him unconscious and drop him.
Sunyul desperately pulled himself up. He forced his uncooperative body to stand and staggered towards the door.
But Garam was faster at blocking the door than Sunyul was at getting out.
Garam grabbed Sunyul, subdued him with ease, and forced his mouth open, pouring the poison inside. Most of the liquid poison was spat out, but some of it inevitably went down into his body.
“Gack…”
Sunyul coughed up blood. His stomach burned as if it were on fire. This time, he didn’t lose consciousness right away. That made it all the more agonizing. He wondered if this was what it felt like to be burned alive.
Garam dragged the unresisting Sunyul back to the window.
Just then, the doorknob rattled. But the door was locked. Undeterred, someone from the outside began to pound on the door fiercely.
“Team Leader! Team Leader, please open the door!”
Instead of answering, Garam hurried to drop Sunyul. But someone forcing the door open was faster than Garam pushing Sunyul out the window.
Someone rushed in and snatched him away from Garam.
“Let go of me! Do you know what that bastard is, that you’re trying to save him?!”
“Team Leader! Calm down!”
“Let go of me right now?! You guys, you’re making a mistake. You’re making a mistake!”
Hearing the desperate, tear-filled voice, Sunyul felt just how much Garam wanted to kill him. Listening to the terrible commotion, Sunyul lost consciousness.

Comments
—It’s an item, how is it murder lol
└I guess the reporter doesn’t know the ‘in’ in ‘sarin’ (murder) means person
—Let him go, he’s a hero who saved the country
└He’s the hope of humanity lol
└He just did what everyone else couldn’t ㅠ
—Am I the only one getting chills? No matter what, it’s horrifying that he tried to poison and throw a human-looking thing from a window
└Yep you’re the only one
└Don’t get all serious, it’s not even a person lol
└If he did that to a person or even an animal it would be horrifying, but should we feel sympathy for Yiili? It’s just an item
[Title: He should have just dropped him]
Who found him and reported it ㅠㅠ
Comments
—I heard protestors at the bottom saw it
└Why would protestors stop him??? Wouldn’t it be a good thing if it died???
└They couldn’t see who it was lol. They just saw someone trying to push a person out a window and reported itㅠ That protestor is probably regretting it now
└So close…
└FR, what a shame
[Title: The guy who stabbed Yiili before got charged with destruction of property lol]
This researcher probably won’t get a harsh punishment either
Comments
—Wouldn’t he get fired from Cheongyeon Guild? ㅠㅠ
└Who fires someone over something like this
└Kwon Muyoung cherishes Yiili, he might fire him
└If he gets fired for this, I’m gonna keep calling Cheongyeon Guild to protest
—I heard he also got a civil suit filed against him and ended up paying a pretty big settlement
└Kwon Muyoung is making a sweet business out of settlements lol. That bastard is already rich
└If he files a civil suit against this guy too, I’m donatingㅡㅡ
└I’ll chip in too
[Title: That Cheongyeon guild member has no choice but to be punished]
He used drugs on other people besides Yiili, okay, apparently, the drug he handled was a banned substance in the first place, so just using it is grounds for punishment, regardless of who the target was
Comments
—I don’t know about the criminal charges, but his alchemist license is definitely getting revoked lol. People like him aren’t qualified to handle drugs
└He did a righteous thing, can’t they do something for himㅠ
└There shouldn’t be exceptions
[Title: Is this a gathering of real psychos]
No, they’re saying he tried to poison a living being, and when that didn’t work, he tried to kill it by pushing it from over 20 stories high, and you’re all praising him for it? Are you guys fucking insane?
Comments
—Yes, next Yiili fangirl, welcome
└I’m a guy you motherfucker
—Gives me the creeps that I was in the same community as you lunatics
└I’m also getting sick of being in a community with empty-headed morons like you
└You’re the one who’s empty-headed fck your intelligence level is so low you fall for propaganda
└What propaganda lmao. The one who fell for propaganda is you
[Title: Kwon Muyoung left in the middle of the memorial ceremony]
Crazy bastard
Does he really want to take care of Yiili on a day like today
Comments
—Doesn’t Yiili have a brainwashing skill?? Otherwise, there’s no way Kwon Muyoung would be this far gone
└They said it’s not brainwashing. He was thoroughly tested
└Just say he was brainwashedㅠ I don’t want to be more disappointed in Kwon Muyoung
└He literally had not a single scandal until now, Yiili is ruining his entire image
└I loved you so much Kwon Muyoung…….
└Hyung, I could have given you my everything
—I trust Kwon Muyoung, so I’m going to try and trust Yiili too
└Just let him go
└You should trust what’s believable lol
[Title: I’m a Cheongyeon guild member]
I used to be proud of working at Cheongyeon, but now it’s a bit embarrassing
What’s wrong with our guild master? He looks fine on the outside, was he really brainwashed
Comments
—Or maybe he was electrocuted
└There’s only one of two reasons for this sudden change
—Shouldn’t Kim Jaehoon at least be in his right mind and stop him?
└Kwon Muyoung is the real power in the guild
[Title: There’s no proof that Yiili is human, but there’s no proof he isn’t either]
Aren’t you guys going too far? What are you going to do if he turns out to be human
Comments
—That won’t happen, so it’s fine
—Even if he is human, they said he’s connected to the rifts, so of course we should beat the shit out of him
└They only said there was a connection, not that it was a bad one
└Nice mental victory tsk tsk
└You’re the one having a mental victory
[Title: This atmosphere of tolerating Yiili is just an online thing]
Go outside. The vibe is so hostile it’s like “we should just execute him and hang his head.”
Comments
—For real lol. They worry about the weirdest things
—It’s not that we’re tolerating him, this whole situation just doesn’t make sense

After the rift appeared, they fought relentlessly. Two nights and three days passed, and even after reinforcements arrived from Busan, numerous hunters were killed or injured. The civilian casualties were also countless.
Attempts to enter the rift failed one after another, all around the world.
It was impossible to get in, but there was no end to what was coming out. Monsters emerged ceaselessly, and even S-rank hunters were growing exhausted.
In the midst of it all, one of Sunyul’s team members finally met his death. It wasn’t even possible to recover the body. Because immediately after his death, a monster had trampled it.
‘Team Leader… We, we can solve this, right?’
‘…We can.’
Listening to his team member’s tear-filled words, Sunyul made a decision.
He had to go in, even if it meant overexerting himself alone.
In the end, Sunyul acted on his decision. No one agreed that Sunyul should go in alone, but he did it. Because it seemed like there was no other way.
As soon as he entered, a pain that felt like it would tear everything apart washed over him. It was agonizing, as if a swarm of bees had burrowed into his body and were stinging him from the inside.
Through the pain, Sunyul somehow forced his eyes open. He could endure the pain. What he was afraid of was being unable to do anything.
Slowly, the pain subsided. But Sunyul was already a complete wreck. There wasn’t a single part of him that was unscathed. Blood dripped from all over his body.
Sunyul barely managed to walk forward.
He saw something. Very large, black, and deep… It was like a black hole, devouring the surrounding light. Undigested light flickered intermittently.
─To think someone has reached this place. How impressive.
A voice reached the ears of the battered Sunyul.
─Do you wish to stop this? There is a way. But you must offer yourself as the price.
─It is not a simple death. In the outside world, your existence will be erased… and here, you will remain. Like dregs.
Sunyul answered.
If that was the price, he would gladly pay it.
And…
