Chapter Index

I hope Abel doesn’t come, but I don’t want to lose, so the argument is going in a strange direction. I finally got out and came back, but I don’t know what he’s doing in the parking lot on the way home.

I was on my way back from the hospital for a routine checkup, after hearing that Yeontan was growing very well, Dr. Jeffrey said that if I just took care of myself and not give birth prematurely, there would be nothing to worry about, and he also advised me to pack my maternity bag, but that wasn’t a problem since Chase had already filled two huge carriers and parked them in front of the door four months ago.

Now, in just two more months, the baby will be born. I’ve been really excited about finally meeting Yeontan. But suddenly, I’ve become upset because of the main character who suddenly appeared. That black panther guy, he wouldn’t run to the main character, leaving the baby black panther and puppy behind, right?

However, I didn’t have enough confidence to trust Chase. In fact, he was there until 10 minutes ago, but he disappeared the moment Abel’s name was mentioned. Because Abel was originally Chase’s destined love, or something like that. Even though he seemed to have a crush on me now, I didn’t know what the future would hold.

Thinking about it that way, I suddenly felt very upset.

The bad guy still hasn’t confessed whether he’s in denial or not… I’m not waiting for a confession, but… If he really does confess, I’ve prepared a line to coax him nicely and tell him that we should be close friends and fathers of Yeon-tan, but this is not right…

In the original, he didn’t deny Abel’s initiation!

I was just thinking about such useless things and I was exhausted. Now I don’t want to argue anymore.

“Anyway, the director and senior Abel said they would come today. They said they would contact me when they got close to my house, but since it’s late, there’s nothing I can do about it, so I’ll just go in for now. My legs hurt…”

I don’t know anymore. I should stop worrying about Abel and just take care of my condition. I absolutely cannot be stressed. There is a baby black panther inside me. But as soon as I turned around, Chase grabbed my shoulder. My body was quickly trapped in his long arms. Chase came closer as if wrapping me from behind and tilted his head toward me and asked

“Does your leg hurt? Is it because it’s numb?” Chase, who used to talk only about Abel, suddenly felt sad when he showed interest in me. I slumped my shoulders and answered sullenly.

“Yeah, I’m feeling weak, my feet hurt, and my legs are numb…

“Ah… I guess I stood there too long.”

“Chase kept talking about Senior Abel.”

    “Hey, you said first!”

    “Ouch, ouch”

“…You should have told me earlier that you were sick. Puppy, come here.”

I was already in Chase’s arms without having to go any further. Still, I leaned in slightly and leaned my body against his solid chest, and Chase lifted me up in a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him, mumbling as I did so.

    “Isn’t it heavy?”

“Even if the dog is heavy, how heavy can it be?”

“But my stomach sticks out like a balloon.”

“That’s because the baby is growing up. I mean, it would have been better if it was a puppy, but it’s a black panther…”

    “You still haven’t given up?”

“…I just want it to be born healthy without any pain. Are you sure your stomach isn’t hurting?”

“Yeah. I’m okay, I’m just a little sleepy.”

“Just get some sleep. I’ll wake you up when we get there.”

I carry my baby from the parking lot in front of my house to my bed in the house, a distance that takes 5 minutes, and he frowns in the meantime.

I laughed alone because I was so dumbfounded, and buried my cheek in Chase’s nape. The sweet and splendid scent of flowers immediately reached deep into my lungs. Although he was a bad-tempered and fierce black panther, his body scent was gentle and soft

It was when Chase, who had me hanging from his body, reached out with one hand to close the car door.

“I’ve arrived, sir. It looks like the house in front of me. I’ll go check first…”

“There’s no need for that, Vice President. That’s the right house. What’s wrong with this neighborhood? Even after a dozen years, it’s still dirty.”

Along with an unwelcome voice, a low and thick voice that I had never heard before flew in from behind me. I turned around in surprise and met the man’s eyes. The middle-aged man with a neat and sophisticated impression distorted his face as if he had seen something unsightly.

My new father was the vice president of Caesar.

“Leoruka, what the hell is that? Don’t come down right now!”

    “…”

Chase, who had been holding me, walked over to face them. A cold chill passed over his chiseled face.

“Please give it down.” I patted Chase on the shoulder and whispered in his ear. I didn’t need to be mindful of his feelings, but I still felt a little awkward being held in his arms in front of other people. Besides, I didn’t want to argue with the vice president.

I don’t know why he came all the way here, but my priority was to not deal with him and send him away quickly. But Chase stood there for a long time without moving. I looked at him curiously, and his soft, rosy cheeks were pale as if frozen. I worried that he was too surprised, so I grabbed his arm and put him down, but his cold, frozen expression was scary.

But his sharp gaze was not directed at the vice president, but at the person standing next to him. The man was slightly shorter than Chase and had a sturdy build. His jet-black hair was neatly pulled back, revealing a forehead with deep wrinkles. He looked like he was well past middle age, but his upright posture and sharp demeanor gave him an

    intimidating impression.

The man who had been staring at Chase with cold eyes turned his head to look at me. Just meeting his gaze made me feel intimidated and my shoulders hunched. As if he had noticed my frightened state, Chase lightly pulled me behind him. Only when the eves of the man, who was probably a beast, disappeared from my sight did I relax. I let out a long sigh and rested my forehead against the broad back blocking my vision.

I felt like I could feel Chase’s body heat even though it wasn’t my bare skin. The pleasant scent of roses faintly brushed my nose. I felt reassured and grabbed the hem of Chase’s clothes. Chase reached out and patted the back of my hand without even looking back.

    “Yeah, it’s been a while.”

    “What is your business?”

In contrast to his affectionate touch, Chase’s response to the other person was sharp. His voice was cold and low, without any emotion.

But the man took his words leisurely, as if he didn’t care at all about Chase’s reaction.

“You’re not even going to introduce me? I heard the general story from Vice President Kaisa, but now that he’s my child. I need to greet him in person.”

“Don’t talk nonsense. Who is your ‘child’?”

“You’re talking nonsense. Isn’t that the child your nephew brought? According to Vice President Kaiser, he’s a gray wolf, but unlike your father, you have good taste. I’m sure your grandfather will be happy.”

“It’s not good for you, and it’s not good for Chairman Arteon. Leo has nothing to do with that house!”

Chase’s breathing became ragged. Perhaps because of his heightened emotions, his pheromones were also rapidly increasing in intensity. I held back my breathing as I tightened my grip on Chase’s clothes.

There was no way I didn’t know who the person who had suddenly appeared was. It was definitely the executive director of the Arteon Group, Chase’s uncle.

“How long are you going to act so immature? Grandfather has high expectations for you. He said he would forgive you for being immature because you were young. You can’t keep a child who holds a precious black panther in a house like this forever, can you? So let’s go back now”

Executive Director Arteon clicked his tongue and took his breath away. Chase’s clenched fist trembled.

“Why should I be forgiven? I have never asked for forgiveness and have no intention of receiving it. Please go back before you see any more ugly things.”

“You still haven’t fixed that messy hair? That’s just how you are with the blood of a fennec fox.”
