Chapter Index

As the conversation turned dark, the director added with a worried expression.

“So Chase is saying that this seems like a bubble?”

“Yes. It won’t last long and it looks like it’s going to collapse, and if that happens, the shipping industry will be hit the hardest. So we need to do something before the economy slows down again…”

In the midst of all this, something suddenly occurred to me. I quickly pulled my hand away from Chase and grabbed the hem of his clothes.

Chase glared at my hand with a disapproving expression, but I didn’t have time to pay attention to that.

“I’ll see you in a year!”

I was in a hurry, so I shouted in a hurry. Then, the director, who had been looking very serious, opened his eyes wide and looked at me.

Chase, who seemed to be contemplating whether or not to lose his temper, gave me a momentary puzzled look. I thought he would just yawn boringly, but his expression was like, what’s going on?

“One year. Your Majesty? What do you mean one year?”

    “that is…”

It was good that I shouted it out of the blue, but after I shouted it out, I realized that both of them found it strange. I felt a little embarrassed, so I laughed awkwardly and talked back.

    “So… I have a new identity, right?”

    “…”

    “…”

Chase’s expression quickly turned sour. He covered his mouth with both hands as if to ask, “Are you saying that again?” and quickly added.

“I just had a feeling that this would be completely broken in a year!”

It was a ridiculous excuse, even to me, but I had nothing else to say. But surprisingly……

A look of admiration crossed the director’s face. No, even if he were the director, would he believe this? So easily?

“Your Majesty, did you really hear that? This is amazing! Then, did your ancestors whisper in your ear?”

    “That, that’s right…?”

“Really? So dead wolves came into this hospital room? Boy, it’s scary. But it’s really amazing! I didn’t know the master had such talents!”

    “…”

    Are you kidding me?

But looking at the director’s expression, I could tell he was sincere. He was on my side even in this situation. He was making a fuss and chanting along, but I felt embarrassed and my ears were getting hot.

But Chase wouldn’t let it go this time either. He even slammed the Tesati report file that was spread out on his lap shut and started to scold him with a frown.

“Puppy, just say verse 1. Aren’t you tired of that sound?”

Of course it’s boring. How many times has this happened…?

I also wanted to change my repertoire a bit if I had a more plausible excuse. But how can I explain the fact that I, who know nothing about business and the economy, know the future like this, other than as a ‘miracle’? You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you I was a possessed person who came to visit Korea in the 21st century!

I had no choice but to be shameless. So I decided to just keep beating around the bush like I always have.

“Isn’t it time to believe me now? You promised me you would believe me last time.”

“Yes, I believe you. Since I believe you, let’s stop talking about that now.”

“If you believe me, why do you stop talking? If you just listen to me, you will have land and a company!”

It’s not a metaphor, the land and the company were created. And now, before a year passes, the company will face a crisis.

“But your prediction is quite specific. A year later? Even though you’ve lost your memories, your brain still works. Isn’t your insight really remarkable?”

    “That’s not insight…..”

Chase looked like he wanted to say that he just guessed, but he held back his words. Even if it was just a quick tap with a puppy’s paw, it was true that my predictions were always right, so there was nothing I could say to refute it.

“…Anyway, there’s still time, so let’s think about this matter slowly. Is there anything special going on at the Lucas Company, Director?”

That’s probably why he decided to just change the subject. Even so, a year later, he’ll come back with a blank expression on his face and mutter something like, ‘The dog really got a strange feeling?’ and refuse to believe me.

Anyway, there must have been some good news from the Lucas Company, because the director started laughing so hard that his mouth split open. My attention quickly turned to him as well.

“There, too, they’re raking in the money. Thanks to that, the support is going well, and Taylor and kids are excited. They’ll be able to bring good results soon.”

    “Really?”

Considering that Taylor’s team’s research had already been several years behind schedule in the original, it was much faster than it is now. At that time, they had not received proper investment, and after support from the Kaisa Medical Center began, they suffered from severe interference, so they were unable to conduct experimental research, which seemed to have delayed the schedule.

I glanced at Chase’s face, and his expression had noticeably relaxed, as if he was relieved.

“Oh, and the movie release date has been set. It will be released at the end of this month.”

“The movie is already over? It’s going faster than I expected.”

“I tried my best. But what can I do? The director sent me several invitations to the preview, but I can’t go.”

“Ah… That’s right. I was curious about the movie.”

I can’t believe I missed out on an event that would liven up my boring daily life because I’m lying down every day. The original work. ‘The Day I Loved You’, received favorable reviews, so I was really looking forward to seeing how the movie would turn out now that the director has a lot more discretion.

Moreover, this time, as the largest investor, I was excited to see the results at the preview. But then I got hospitalized, so I feIt regretful and my mouth was watering.

“Puppy, why do you want to see that? Do you want to see Abel come out?”

    “…”

But that really wasn’t the reason. How could that be?

Chase being jealous is cute in its own way, but Abel’s constant nagging was a bit too much. In fact, Abel might not have much of a mind of his own.

    “Really? You missed me, junior?”

But Abel must have had something else in mind…

I turned my head in surprise at the sudden voice. Abel appeared in the hospital room before I knew it, smiling brightly while holding out a large fruit basket. Why is he here again?

“Oh, that’s a surprise! When did you come?”

“Haha, are you surprised? I came to visit you in the hospital. The door was open so I came in and you were talking about me.”

    “Ah, that’s…”

Last time, when the director and Abel were supposed to come visit. I suddenly collapsed and had to cancel the schedule. I explained the situation to the director and told him that I had been admitted to the hospital, but Abel couldn’t pretend not to know and came to visit me.

Regardless, Chase looked quite displeased that Abel had come all the way here, and Abel still didn’t seem to be interested in Chase. As I quietly watched the two of them, I felt strange.

Looking at him being so indifferent like a chicken, it seemed like Abel really didn’t like Chase. Then why did he approach Chase first in the original? Was it really because he was blinded by the wealth of the Arteon family?

I used to think that was definitely the reason, but after meeting Executive Director Arteon in person, my thoughts changed.

Even if Chase were to bow down and join the Arteon family now, it was unlikely that they would truly accept him. In the original, Arteon had appointed Chase as the planning director and had him lead the group, but it seemed like he had no intention of actually giving him a share or actively nurturing him as a successor.

It seemed to me later that they were planning to find a suitable baby and have him become the child of Executive Director Arteon, as it would be difficult to control Chase, who was already an adult, according to their tastes. In fact, in the original work, Chase was only used as Arteon’s sword, and as a member of the family, he was not able to enjoy anything.

I stared at Abel’s brown curly hair with a reddish tint and thought. Abel, being smart, must have known about this atmosphere in the Arteon Group. But why did Abel send Chase back to that family?

Since I was reincarnated into this world before I could finish reading the entire novel. I didn’t know the ending of the original novel. However, I was curious about what happened between Abel and Chase, so I looked at the comments section when I paid for the latter half of the novel.
