    “Yejun isn’t home, though?”

The person who opened the door was Wooju. Wooju looked at Junhyuk with a puzzled expression and asked back.

“Yejun said he was going to a friend’s house to study, so he didn’t come home yesterday.”

“Ah… I’m sorry. It seems Yejun and I got our plans mixed up.”

Wooju looked at the dumbfounded Junhyuk strangely, then forced a smile and continued.

“I heard you’ve been a great help to our Yejun with his school life. Please continue to take good care of him.”

    “Ah… yes, I will.”

It did not seem like Wooju was lying. He had no choice but to back away. Junhyuk got back into his car, leaned his head against the headrest, and let out a long sigh. Then he called the VIP ward of Taejin Hospital.

“This is Cha Junhyuk. Please check if there are any visitors in the Taejin Group VIP room.”

    — Please wait a moment. I will check for you.

A moment later, the response that came back was only that there were no visitors in the VIP room. Junhyuk hurriedly started the engine and turned the car toward Yejun’s family home. Then he called the unresponsive Yejun and left a voicemail message.

“Yejun, I was wrong yesterday. So please stop being angry.”

Unable to control his growing anxiety, Junhyuk stomped on the accelerator and began to drive recklessly.

Since that day, Sanghyeon had felt light and refreshed. He recalled the lovemaking of the past two days and smiled with satisfaction.

    “Secretary Song.”

Sanghyeon summoned Secretary Song using the intercom. A moment later, along with the sound of a knock, Secretary Song entered the chairman’s office.

    “Chairman, you called for me?”

“Call CEO Song and summon Lee Yejun.”

“Shall I book the Mirae Hotel for the location?”

“No, to my family home in two hours.”

Sanghyeon never brought a one-night stand to his home. A bit flustered, Secretary Song missed the timing to reply. Sanghyeon, who was reviewing approval documents, lifted his head and looked at Secretary Song. Only then did Secretary Song come to his senses and answer politely.

    “I understand.”

Following Sanghyeon’s instructions, Secretary Song immediately picked up his phone and called Yeongsik.

“CEO Song says he happens to be with Mr. Lee Yejun. He says they will leave right away.”

    “Okay.”

Sanghyeon was in a very good mood up to that point. Quite pleased with Yejun’s body, Sanghyeon was already filled with anticipation. He thought he would have to make Yejun cry again today and handed the reviewed report to Secretary Song. It was just as Secretary Song was about to leave the office with the approval documents. Yeongsik’s name popped up on Secretary Song’s phone screen.

    “Yes.”

    — Um… Yejun is adamantly refusing, so I think it will be difficult today. I’ll try to persuade him…

“What are you talking about right now? It seems you have no intention of receiving the investment.”

Sanghyeon’s ears also caught Secretary Song’s irritated voice. Sanghyeon gestured to Secretary Song to end the call, and Secretary Song understood his meaning immediately.

“I will call you back in a moment.”

Secretary Song ended the call and stood before Sanghyeon like a guilty person.

“Lee Hyungyu. How much was the loan from the private lenders again?”

    “Eight hundred million won.”

“Is he paying the interest well?”

“Seeing as he’s two weeks behind on this month’s interest, it seems he has already gambled away all the money.”

“Contact Jeon Sangup and tell him to capture Lee Hyungyu.”

    “I understand.”

The brow of Sanghyeon, who had seemed to be in a good mood until now, furrowed. Sanghyeon rose from his seat and slowly walked to the window. Then he looked down at the view of the Han River spread out beyond the window and muttered.

“I’ll make him come crawling on his own.”
