Shen Kaiyue didn’t clearly hear the voice-only the sound of knocking on the door. He thought that matchmaker Zhao had returned, he rushed to open the door, but to his surprise, it was a pretty young woman.

The girl had a pale face and a bright smile. She wasn’t short but her thin frame made her look younger, barely twenty. Shen Kaiyue was stunned, “I am Shen Kaiyue, comrade, who are you?”

Su Xingye hadn’t expected Shen Kaiyue to be this good-looking. He was barely mentioned in the book, just described as a soldier, an upright person, and a poor man who was both a father and a mother struggling to raise his children alone.

Su Xingye imagined him a simple and honest man, but in person, he was unexpectedly quite different. He didn’t look like he had two children at all.

Shen Kaiyue had a tall, upright figure, sharp facial features, broad shoulders and narrow waist, a typical model.

That was an unexpected gain.

Su Xingye quickly pulled Shen Jiabao away. Such a skinny kid, if he was slapped again, then he might be hurt.

She squatted down with Shen Yueyue in her arms, looking at the skinny little rascal in front of her, “Why should I give it to you? it’s mine, I can give it to whoever I want.”

With Su Xingye’s shielding, Shen Jiabao stopped yelling. He sobbed, “She is a money-loser, she can’t eat good things.”

Okay, this beating is worth it.

Su Xingye laughed in her heart, what a bad boy, and teased him, “these are my hawthorn slices, I can give them to whoever I want to eat, and I won’t give them to a crying little boy, that’s not manly at all.”

A five or six-year-old boy had no resistance to the word “manly”. Shen Jiabao stopped crying immediately, holding back his sobs and straightening his chest, “I, I’m a man! Will you give me some?”

“No, a real man wouldn’t say that to your sister, you say sorry to your sister.”

Shen Jiabao glanced at his sister who was quietly eating hawthorn slices in Su Xingye’s arms, pouted and muttered, “She is a money-loser, grandma said so.”

Then he looked at Su Xingye expectantly, “Look.”

Su Xingye looked at Shen Yueyue, “your brother apologized to you, what he just said was wrong, Yueyue is not angry.”

Then she gave Shen Jiabao a piece and stuffed the rest into Shen Yueyue’s mouth.

As soon as she left the yard, she heard Shen Jiabao shouting like a machine gun, “Money-losing goods, mute girl, little mute!”

Then Shen Kaiyue’s angry voice, “Shen Jiabao!”

Very good, it seems that the days ahead will not be boring at all.

After hearing what matchmaker Zhao said at the supply and marketing cooperative, she had made her decision almost instantly-to marry Shen Kaiyue.

Since she had taken over the body of the original owner, she was determined not to raise her children to be as paranoid and rebellious as the before.

The matter of making money can be put aside for the time being. The most important thing at the moment is to supplement the children with nutrition and then raise them with a good character.

And that included Shen Kaiyue’s two kids, too.

Didn’t Shen Kaiyue send money home every month? Grandma Shen was clearly so biased, I guess all the delicious food is given to that little boy, yet he was still skinny. It made no sense.

“Sister-in-law, I’m back.”

Liu Suqin was pouring water for the children on the table. Seeing her sister-in-law return, she poured her a bowl too.

“You just left Xiaoyang and Xiaoliu without saying anything. Are you still mad at your sister-in-law?”

She felt worried looking at her sister-in-law. If her daughter had this temper in the future, she wouldn’t be able to rest in peace. She was so soft as dough, and still so stubborn. Zhou Renqiang was a coward at first glance. I don’t know what kind of magic potion he fed to his sister-in-law. Life is not a life for human beings, but she is still devoted to her. If she hadn’t called her over for a meal every now and then, these people would have starved to death.

If she’d just listened and married the man they picked, she could have been living a comfortable life by now.

After she gave her some advice, she felt that she had bad intentions.

But it was useless to say these words, “You have finally made it through the worst, once Zhou Renqiang settles down in the city, you can go find him. You will be a city dweller in the future, and our family won’t be able to visit you often. You must be careful and don’t be like a fool. You believe everything he says. Think more about the children.”

She has a sharp tongue, but a kind heart. She cares about her sister-in-law as much as her own children.

She cursed several times.

Su Xingye reached out and hugged her, “Sister-in-law, please don’t be angry, I was wrong, I really was, I should have listened to you from the beginning, please don’t be mad.”

Su Xingye’s eyes were red. In her previous life, she had always been alone-no one had ever cared for her like this. The original owner was truly lucky to have a brother and sister-in-law who loved her so deeply.
